Scrapbook cover

I know. . . it’s just an old scrapbook . . . faded and hard to read . . .old news . . . moving on.

Now this is just me -- I started to take a look and then thought, the nation is barely recovering from the depression and now a world war. The news clippings in this scrapbook was the main source of war information and important enough to put in a book and save for 75 years.

On the home front, shortages and rationing of sugar, gasoline, tires and more. House wives donating their aluminum cookware for the war effort. “Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.”

In the scrapbook is a large photograph of FDR which was announcing that he passed away.  Can you imagine the shock to our town and the nation!
